About the project
In October 2023, the Afghan province of Herat was rocked by several powerful earthquakes. We supported the earthquake victims with donations as emergency humanitarian aid.
The earthquakes of October 2023
Herat Province lies in north-western Afghanistan. Thousands of people lost their lives in the earthquakes, whilst others lost everything they owned.
Stoves and fuel for 16 families
We supported families who, as a result of the earthquakes, were left without a home or any means of income. In December 2023, we were able to provide 16 families in the village of Khaja Sarbur near Herat with stoves and fuel for the winter. Our contact person brought the aid supplies to the village by lorry. The people of Khaja Sarbur were then easily able to assemble the stoves themselves.
